Shyness and Marketing; How We All Have Different Parts
I met with the marketing ace yesterday who’s helping me with Instagram.
Let's talk shyness and marketing. Remember me saying that humans are comprised of many parts?
One part of me is excited-I’ve not been on Instagram before and it’s captivating. I follow a bunch of artists in different disciplines: writing, painting, dance, sculpture, video. Waking up every morning to see what’s new in their worlds is like waking up in a chocolate factory.
Then there was this other part…
She is anxious. She kept whispering “we can do this later."
Later equals never.
I had a short active imagination with this part.
You can read the whole conversation here (and even use the questions on the part of you who's also dragging her feet on her marketing).
The gist was this: This part fears marketing because she worries no one will care. The response will be crickets. She'll take it personally.
Once she expressed this fear, it dissipated. Miraculous.
Then she said she wanted me to make sure we took care with this writing--that it is part of our craft.
So I did.
If you'd like to get some guidance on working with the parts of you that are fearful, may be dragging their feet, or are warring with each other, email me and we can set up a short session to get you started.
It's amazing what happens when you give parts of yourself attention and a voice. It's the beginning of transformation.
