Transform Your Creative Blocks & Let Them Save You
I am writing this on my brother’s birthday. He would've been 64 years old but died early of alcoholism.
I spent the last almost 20 years of my working life helping people (including myself) clear the blocks to their creativity and do the work they were meant to do in the world. This is challenging work for us all. It's hard to overcome the blocks. What does this have to do with my brother?
Engaging with creative blocks, to transform them
Sometimes it helps me to remember the bigger picture. That I am–we are– lucky to be alive and have the opportunity to learn about our creativity, what gets in the way of it, and how to engage with those blocks so they transform into helpers and support. My brother, your sister, parent, friend, cousin, neighbor–we each have someone in our lives who didn't live long enough to get to do that.
I’m sending compassion and love to you at the holidays, particularly if you lost someone early and you’re feeling it this time of year. Along with a reminder to all of us about what a gift it is to be alive.
My newest book, Artist's Prosper is out
My book Artists: Prosper! can help you work with your creative blocks. It might be time to see what to do to move your work forward.
Remember, your work matters.
